The Beach Villas is a very nice condo complex located on the beach front at Captiva Island, inside the gated community of South Seas Island Resort(SSIR). The Beach Villas is a 160 unit beach front complex of 1(approx 750 sq ft), 2 (approx 1100 sq ft), and 3+loft(approx 1500 sq ft) bedroom condos located at the south end of the resort complex. Like all privately owned condos at SSIR there are 2 ways to rent these properties- either through the resort or through private owners/rental agencies. All units here are individually owned and decorated- SSIR does not own or decorate any of the condominiums here so don't expect the condo you reserve through SSIR to necessarily look like the pictures on their website. The advantage of renting through a private owner is that you will typically save lots of money and be able to view photos of the condo, however, SSIR management restricts many of the resort amenities you can use. This includes the lagoon pool complex area, children's activity programs, many of the resort restaurants, etc. If you do not require the resort amenities for your vacation, you can typically save lots of money by going the private owner route. There is an option for guests of private owners to buy a 'resort pass' to access all of the resort amenities, however a premium is charged for this. Amenities for all renters at the Beach Villas include 3 heated swimming pools (2 of which are on the gulf side of the property), pretty trellised grilling areas near the pools, direct beach frontage, laundry on-site, and tennis. All Beach Villas have beautiful direct gulf front views and will enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Gulf. The complex is also a short walk to the many stores/restaurants at both Chadwick Square and the quaint Captiva village area.
